Santa Claus will arrive in a beautiful vintage style Fire Brigade Truck to greet all the boys, girls and grownups who come to see him at 1pm this coming Saturday 25th November. Santa has received clearance to land his sleigh in Cork from air traffic control and once he sets down he will be transported in jolly style along Cork’s quayside to the Marina Market, where he is taking up temporary residence at ‘Santa’s Magical Market’ Everyone is welcome to come along on the day, to catch of the man in red’s arrival and enjoy the festive atmosphere of the occasion.
Santa’s Magical Market, in association with TS Events, is returning to the Marina Market from Saturday 25th November until December 23rd and will be bigger and even more magical than last year.
The brand-new experience includes interactive areas full of Christmas magic! Families can wander through snow kissed woods, step on the amazing ‘Polar Express’ train before heading to the magical Christmas village, help the elves make toys at the Elf Toy Workshop, make treats at Mrs Claus’s bakery, and pay a visit to the South Pole Post Office.
Finally, visitors will meet Santa himself in his snow covered Grotto, to share all your heartfelt wishes. Here you can snap up a keepsake photo of the special moment, taken with Resolute Photography, Munster’s leading event photographers.
A big bonus for many of this experience is that it’s dog friendly so your four-legged friend doesn’t have to miss out on the family adventure. Your fur-baby can even be booked in for their own special visit with ‘Santa Paws’!
The event is also fully accessible, and there’s a sensory hour each Sunday morning from 11am-12pm. And any fantastic benefit of Santa’s Magical Market is that you make a day of it by soaking up the fantastic atmosphere of the Marina Market, one of Ireland’s top food and craft halls, before strolling into the city for Christmas festivities and shopping.
Commenting on this year’s Santa’s Magical Market, Marketing Manager at Cork-based TS Events David O’ Driscoll said “We are really proud to have been picked by Santa to help all the boys and girls have a Magical Market visit. We have worked side by side with all the elves to make this a unique and memorable experience for all – it’s a much bigger and better experience this year and we look forward to sharing the joy of Christmas with all our visitors.”
Adding to the magic of this extra special Santa Experience is that Enable Ireland are the charity partners. During the festive period, visitors can tap to donate €2 to the charity and place a ribbon on a tree within the market.
