Situated at the top of Glandore village, on the much acclaimed Wild Atlantic Way, the Glandore Inn, with its friendly service and fabulous coastal views, is a mecca for visitors throughout the summer months. It is renowned for its delicious food, sourced locally wherever possible, using the freshest of seasonal, quality ingredients that the region has to offer. The stunning location looks out over the picturesque fishing port of Union Hall, so there is no need to add anything more about the freshness of the fish and seafood or its carbon footprint.
In the summer the Glandore Inn opens in the mornings for coffee, scones and pastries. The lunch menu is served from Noon until 5.30 pm and evening meal is served from 6.00 – 9.00 pm. Food is served on Sundays from Noon until 8.00 pm with traditional Sunday roast being a firm family favourite. Bookings are not taken for Sunday lunch in the summer as it is so popular.
The lunch menu changes frequently with daily specials, as one would expect fish features but for meat eaters there is a steak sandwich as well as toasties and ciabatta.
The evening meal comprises of succulent steaks, burgers, vegetarian options, fish and daily specials. Specific dietary requirements can be accommodated, the visitor simply has to make this known to a staff member.
The Glandore Inn is fully licensed and carries a comprehensive wine menu together with a range of craft beers, local gins such as West Cork, Kinsale and Blackwater, and Dingle Gin is also stocked. For whiskey lovers local West Cork Whiskey is available.
The Glandore Inn is exceedingly comfortable. The outside seating area is popular in the summer, boasting spectacular ocean views. It is family friendly and offers a full children’s menu. The bar is just the place for casual, family dining. A covered area at the back of the Inn doubles up as a beer garden or function room. The Glandore Inn is a great place for private parties and function with its friendly and courteous staff.
The bar is family-owned and run by a well known local family who all have experience in the fishing industry. Finbarr McCarthy manages the business for the family assisted by bar manager Rory MacCarthy.
The Glandore Inn is open daily until the October Bank Holiday with restricted hours over the winter period.
