Dorothy ÓTuama, the proprietor of ÓTuama Tours, is a professional Food Tour Guide/Chef based in the Gaeltacht Mhúscraí region of Co. Cork. Dorothy loves exploring her stunning region and sharing her food and cookery knowledge through her tours.
Since qualifying as a registered food tour guide in 2016, one of the most satisfying tour experience she offers is providing guiding services for Johnny Lynch at his Macroom Buffalo Farm. The gentle Water Buffalo roam along the beautiful Lee Valley and a variety of creamy, Irish Buffalo cheeses are made every day on the Lynch Home Farm.
Dorothy’s mission at work is to give all her guests and visitors an authentic, healthy, safe experience they will remember, while learning more about Irish local culture, heritage, modern food production and its provenance.
A range of tours is offered by Dorothy, private buffalo farm tours for minibus, coach or special interest groups. The itinerary can be tailored to suit a specific group’s interests and requirements such as family and friends with a minimum of 10 in the party, national and international dairy and livestock farmers, schools, knowledge transfer associations, culinary and social clubs.
There is a minimum fixed charge for all visitors on the farm. All visits to the farm must be pre booked in line with Health and Safety measures and the working cycle of farm life.
Layer clothing, wellies and covered footwear are recommended on the farm.
