The vibrant Crossmahon Bar is run by Emer Coffey and Ronan Donnelly who met in Dublin, where they were in college together studying sound engineering. They moved to Co. Cork 3 years ago and have settled into Ahiohill. Ronan is a chef and Emer a school teacher.
When Covid hit, Ronan lost his job in the Manfriday’s Restaurant, Kinsale and they started a coffee/catering business called The Little Tipple Company. The couple did roadside coffee sales, coffee events, markets and private catering. After chatting with Jerry Crowley, owner of The Crossmahon Bar, Emer and Ronan decided to take over the premises and have not looked back. A new kitchen has been installed and the bar has been reopened as a Gastro Pub, quickly establishing a great reputation for specializing in local food on the weekends.
The couple will plan music for the bar in the future but this depends on the trajectory of Covid 19.
The Crossmahon Bar is your family run local! Brilliant beer! Wicked whiskeys! Chef Donnelly’s famous steak and chips! And lovely local punters! Drinks will be flowing Thursday through Monday! Scrumptious grub will be served Friday, Saturday and Sunday!
